"Daisuke Obana - Record of Distress Pain" will be held at PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO on October 19th (Sat) to November 4th (Mon), 2024.

This exhibition is an installation exhibition that traces the roots of Daisuke Obana, a designer of Japan's leading fashion brand "N.HOOLYWOOD", which will be celebrating its 25th anniversary next year. In commemoration of the release of the commemorative book "Record of Pain" (PARCO Publishing), the event has been decided. In the era of the vintage shop "go-getter" where Obana was involved in launching in his early 20s, we will exhibit photographs of used clothes purchased while visiting about 3,000 parts of the United States and maps that actually used.

Numerous numbers of photographs that were taken daily with instant cameras without seeing the purpose or goal, ordered by the teacher. GPS is a map that reads suppliers until midnight when there was no car navigation system. This exhibition is an installation that proves that these photographs and maps have been a valuable record of Obana's half life after more than 25 years, and that proves that it was a special experience. Please feel free to experience it at the venue.

At the venue, in addition to pre-sale of the book "Record of Pain" (PARCO Publishing), in addition to official merchandise limited to the venue, a limited edition of N.HOOLYWOOD's military collection line "N.HOOLYWOOD TEST PRODUCT EXCHANGE SERVICE" will also appear. In addition, we will open a limited-time shop of "go-getter" at PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO, and specially sell vintage items collected by Obana.

Daisuke Obana (Daisuke Obana)

N.HOOLYWOOD Designer

Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1974. He gained experience in used clothes since high school, and later served as a buyer and shop manager at a famous store in Harajuku. Opened the go-getter, a select shop for used clothes that was involved in launching in 1996. During the vintage boom, we select used clothes with strong design from the 70s and 80s to create a number of movements. I began to question the values of the used clothes world that "the older ones and those with good conditions are more valuable", and started remakes and original development in the store.

In 2000, we opened a shop "Mister hollywood" in Harajuku to develop it in earnest. The following year, the brand "N.HOOLYWOOD" was established. After presenting his first collection at the club in 2002, he participated in the Tokyo Collection. From 2010, the presentation will be transferred to the NY collection.

In addition to working on the brand N.HOOLYWOOD, he also oversees the design of the torch relay for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relay, and is active worldwide in a wide range of creations.
